ABOUT US

Black People Talk is a not-for-profit organisation with big hearts and big ambition: to make all universities a place where Black students can thrive.

Everything we do at Black Students Talk is carried out for the benefit of students who self identify as Black (Black African, Black Caribbean, or Mixed with Black Heritage) in universities around England and Wales.

We are here to:

  • Support the mental health and wellbeing of Black students.

  • Provide Black students with the tools to be able to advocate for theirs and others mental health and wellbeing

  • Explore the narratives around Black student mental health and change / reclaim the narrative to one that is positive

  • Understand the lived experiences and life events that shape the mental health and wellbeing of Black students in the UK

  • Increase the UK Black student community’s mental health and wellbeing awareness and understanding

  • Increase public awareness and understanding of Black student mental health and wellbeing
